Ink Slash

WORKING

Three brush strokes on staggered clocks, each a distance-to-a-line-segment with pressure-tapered width, a chewed dry-brush edge and spatter past the tip.

Three brush strokes on staggered clocks, each a distance-to-a-line-segment with pressure-tapered width, a chewed dry-brush edge and spatter past the tip.

A stroke is a signed distance to a line segment, thresholded. Everything that makes it read as ink rather than a rectangle is the modulation: width tapered by sin(along*π) for pressure, a 1D-noise edge for dry brush, and opacity draining from the tail forward so the stroke runs out.

Rewritten after measurement showed the single stroke left the frame empty for a third of every cycle: three offset strokes, ink that runs dry from the tail forward, and noise-roughened edges.
